Like any good parent, I want what’s best for my children. But what I don’t want is my living room turning into a Toys R Us graveyard of broken and discarded toys. My goal is always to find high quality toys that entertain and help educate my kids, which is sometimes easier said than done. With the holiday season right around the corner, the overwhelming search for the perfect toy for the child in your life begins. Each year I spend tons of time researching to find the perfect gift that will meet all of my criteria and keep my kids happy. Luckily, I’ve found Playskool Learnimals ABC Adventure Elefun Toy, one of my (and my son’s) very favorite toys.
What makes this toy stand out? To start, its bright blue elephant shape is exciting and enticing to every child. It’s bright and cheerful and very durable, but even better than that; it can really help your child’s learning development.

It has more than 75 sounds and teaches more than 100 words. The screen rotates through bright images representing each letter of the alphabet. Pull the elephant’s trunk to learn a new word, spin the roller for a new letter of the alphabet, move the toy mouse for numbers, and so much more.
What’s great about the Elefun is that there are so many ways to learn, so your baby never gets bored. The age range is 6-26 months, so it also grows with your children and can keep them learning for years. Right now my son enjoys hearing the sounds and pressing the buttons, but I know that as he gets older he will enjoy learning letters and words from the Elefun. I’ve heard from moms with older children that the toy really had a big impact on their child’s vocabulary and that their kids played with it long after they turned three.
My son can play with the Elefun for a long time, and at his age, that’s saying something. I also caught my husband playing with it by himself the other day—I guess those bright colors and sounds are irresistible to more than just small children. The size also makes it very transportable so we can move it from room to room—we especially love it for long car rides.
The Playskool ABC Adventure Elefun retails for around $30, and is durable enough to last through heavy use from multiple children. Even with everyday use at my house, our Elefun has outlasted some of my son’s lower quality toys. It is a great investment in your child’s entertainment and learning.
