Badaboum Padded Sleep Sack Review

Any mom will admit that sacrifice does not end when the umbilical cord is cut separating the mother from the baby. In fact, that is just the start of everything. New mothers are mostly caught unawares how hard parenting really is.

Before I had my first baby I always laughed off how some of my parent-friends warned me of the never-ending sleepless nights. But when my beautiful baby girl finally popped out of the oven, I finally realized what it meant to be sleep deprived. I was literally surviving on 3-4 hours of sleep each day and that is not even continuous sleeping hours. I had to wake up every two hours to nurse, change dirty diapers, clean spit ups and the list just goes on and on.

Letting baby sleep was a struggle most of the time. Until I discovered baby sleep sacks.

What is a baby sleep sack? Well, for starters, a baby sleep sack or wearable blanket is best described as a fusion between a blanket and a sleeping bag. This unique blend allows your baby to move naturally without getting uncovered and cold. Babies flail, twist and turn around in their sleep, ordinary blankets will just get thrown out easily leaving the baby cold and fussy and, of course, awake.

I was recently sent a sleep sack (to my delight!) by Badaboum. Badaboum sleep sacks are designed and created by a French expatriate in California with a toddler and a new baby who couldn’t find the kind of traditional baby sleep sacks all French moms use.

The Badaboum sleep sacks come in two different sizes, 0-6 months to fit babies just after birth, and 6-24 months for older babies to approximately up to two years. I received the larger size in Ice Green Dots design so I was able to try it on my son who is now 17 months old. When I first tried the sack on my son it was much bigger than I expected it to be but I guess this only means that I can actually really use the swaddle until my little boy reaches 24 months and much, much bigger than he is now.

The shell of the sack is made of 100% cotton and the filling 100% breathable polyester. It felt soft and comfortable in my hand and my little guy couldn’t agree more, he was all smiles when I put him inside the sack. The material made the sack really cozy and comfortably warm which I know would help promote sleep in babies. Babies love warmth, it’s what they’re used to when they were still inside our tummies.

Putting baby inside the sack was really easy and convenient. All I had to do was to lay the sack flat inside the crib, place my baby over the sack, and snap and zip! The snaps were located at the top and the zipper around the bottom so it was really easy for me to get the sleep sack on and off, and to change my little boy’s diaper in the middle of the night without disturbing his sleep.

To cap everything off, I love Badaboum sleep sacks and so does my little boy! I am totally recommending this to all moms out there, especially to expecting mothers. This product will surely make your life much easier.
