Moving takes a lot of work. And that is an understatement. Because firstly, how do you start moving out? You sort all your things big and small on which to toss or donate or take, then pack and label, then leave, and then transport. And secondly, how do you start moving in? You arrive, unpack, tidy up, and figure out where to put your things in the new place.
Seems simple, but every step it takes to move sure does take a lot of work and energy. And there are a lot of things happening in between. Before you leave, you would have to take care of other things like making sure that everything would be settled (paperworks, dues, requests, delegated tasks, goodbyes, and other closing errands that may be related to work, business, or personal relationships). Exhausting, right? Almost like planning a wedding, which is supposed to be exciting, but with more muscle work and at a relatively shorter timeline.
I’m saying this because I’ve been helping my dear relatives and close friends with moving, and I actually enjoy it. But for themselves who are actually moving, it’s not the most fun thing to work on. I only help them with so much like planning ahead, surveying through their stuff, organizing garage sales, and many other things except for transporting. I used to leave it up to them, because they’re the ones who would spend for it anyway and I thought it would have to be their choice.
But recently, I’ve been asked by a colleague if I could recommend some reputable Newmarket movers that also offer climate-controlled storage facilities, because she’s moving to a smaller place and is too pressed for time to decide on which stuff to get rid of. Then I remembered my husband once told me not so long ago about his friend who happened to experience the service of Bradford Movers. He told me they had the coolest moving truck because it was custom-built and he’s never seen anything like it before. And that the guys who helped him move were so much fun to deal with. When I first heard about it, I didn’t care. I thought the cool truck was just guy talk.
But here I am now after helping my friend search for her perfect mover, and I think we found it. What we both liked about it is that they offer a free estimate of the services she needs. But before she could ask for a free estimate, she especially wanted a moving and storage company that has a very informative website where she would be able to understand completely the type of service she’s expecting. Like for storage, she was able to know how much space she needs based on the available dimensions of the storage facility, and on what kind of items they could hold.
We also learned through their press release that they’re expanding their storage capacity by 50%, which means the demand for their storage facility and services must have been increasing as well due to the quality of their service, and their reliability. So what I once thought was just guy talk before, now became a powerful word-of-mouth thing from my husband’s friend to my husband, and then to me, and then to my moving colleague.
I wish her all the best in the upcoming new chapter of her life, but I’m pretty confident that she’ll be moving and storing her belongings stress-free. In fact, we’re both so excited to rummage through her stuff somethime next month!
