Ready to light up your world and save money too?
I have been a very late adopter of energy savings devices. So when I received a chance to review the LED bulb by BrightBulb I thought why not. I like keeping more money in my pocket right.
So let’s get this out of the way. This bulb costs $39.99 on Amazon.com. You’re probably thinking it better also come with the lamp right? If you’re a little thrown off about the price. What’s amazing about this bulb is that it comes with a 100% No-Questions-Asked, Lifetime Guarantee. That is super cool.
So here are some cool facts about this bulb:
- It has a lifespan of 40,000+ hours.
- $395 predicted lifetime savings
- It has a 10 Year warranty
- It’s Dimmable
- It’s Mercury Free
- Genuine replacement of 75-100 watt incandescent bulb using just 13 watts
When you first open the box you will notice the bulb is very substantial and has more weight to it than other bulbs. When I put it in my lamp, I expected a very harsh light, kind of like a spot light. That is not what I got. The bulb gave off a very warm diffusing glow. I happened to put this bulb in my living room. It’s great because when we are looking at movies we can still see around the room, without the light being too harsh and effecting our movie viewing experience. I mean who wants harsh light when we’re watching Frozen for the 20th time!
This light bulb is also dimmable, but I don’t have a lamp or switch for that in my home right now. I am looking to put in a dimmer switch or get a lamp with this feature to see how well it works.
I now really want one of these bulbs for every room in my house, especially my bedroom. I think LED lights (even with the higher price tag) probably will take over the light bulb industry because they are better, cheaper in the long run and last longer than incandescent and fluorescent bulbs.
Come to think of it, the light bulb in my garage just went out and I need to replace it, but this LED bulb is just to cool to put out there right? Hmm…. where’s my step ladder.
