My kids have 5 years between them so, finding toys for them to both enjoy and bond over can be challenging sometimes. One thing all kids love is an exciting, fun activity and as long as they are learning something from it, they can play for as long as they want. That’s why when we received toys from The Young Scientists Club, my 5-year-old son, 10-year-old daughter and I were all excited to see what was inside. The Young Scientists Club has quality, fascinating science products for kids to learn about science early on. Designed by Harvard graduates, scientists and experts in toy making, the kits look very professional and yet, age-appropriate. We received two sets from them and the kids were in love with both.
Clifford Animal Science Kit
We love animals at our house. When we unboxed the Clifford Animal Science Kit, the kids, were joyous to see how many things there were in there and I was happy to see how long the toy could keep them out of my hair. The kit comes with a well-narrated manual to guide the kids through different activities like, edible play dough, animal track cast, animal scavenger hunt, which my little ones absolutely loved, animal fossils, camouflaged animals, animal life cycle, what is in an egg, what do animals eat, bird feeder, and habitat diorama that they both enjoyed all through Saturday and Sunday. The toys are well made and don’t feel like cheap plastic “doctor toys” we see in toy stores. Clifford The Big Red Dog Animal Service Kit includes a bunch of items that made my son think he was an actual scientist like the habitat stickers that can be reused, as well as a scavenger hunt chart with stickers, a bughouse, where my daughters new ‘’pets’’ are living, 12 miniature animals that are adorable and look durable, a colorful lab tray, a measuring cup, and a magnifying glass. This toy will bring months of play when they show them to their friends, for sure.
Magic School Bus: Back In Time With Dinosaurs
The next weekend, I took the second kit we received out to see what kind of experiments they would be having with it. When my son saw it had something to do with dinosaurs, his excitement was uncontainable. The experiment kit is colorful and very informative. The activities are thorough with teaching the kids how and when dinosaurs existed. Some of the activities include creating a timeline for the kids to see how long ago dinosaurs existed, design a diorama, build a wooden dinosaur (that they now refuse to take apart and want to keep as decoration), make casts to mold fossils and clay dinosaur teeth, fold 3D dinosaurs and simulate a dino dig. The activities were so interesting and, even I sat with the kids to learn a little bit more about dinosaurs.
The kids are looking forward to their next science experiment kit from The Young Scientists Club with excitement and I am just happy that they are enjoying learning about the world and getting a little bit more interested in science. TYSC toys will be a common thing we see around the house from now on, thanks to the entertaining and educating ways of it.
