Kitchen is the heart of each home. If there is no activity in this area, it would be just a house. Do you ever experience waking up just before the sunrise burst to prepare breakfast? This will never be tiring; we put our dedication to every meal that we serve to our family. But there are instances when parents’ cooking becomes a fast-forward- duty. Why? Our child interrupts or asks questions. Most of the time, children grab anything within their reach, and this could be harmful to them. This is the challenge; we can’t stop the curious mind of the child. It is a part of their learning process. I remember one time I visited my neighbor to borrow something; it was around half pass ten in the morning, I though it was the most decent time to drop by, though I am always welcome. Honestly, I was surprised to see her cooking that early. Of course as a housewife, we had a heartfelt chat. She told me that she was having difficulty since her son turns four years old. He starts to insist to be in the kitchen and even with her watchful eyes, there are still intense instances.
Here is a tip. What would you do if your child picked-up a bread knife? Do not over react. Do not show any traces of fear, approach fast yet calmly. Once you shout or panic the tendency was for your child to feel that same emotion. He might suddenly strike the bread knife anywhere. In my opinion, I couldn’t consider this negligence in the mother’s part. Because we won’t stop, the solution must be in our hands.
I was sent “Curious Chef built a kitchen – 27 pc Foundation set” for review. The Curious Chef built a kitchen set – 27 pc Foundation set is BPA-free product; it stands for Bisphenol A, a chemical building block that is used to make polycarbonate plastic. You don’t have to worry about this, because the product is free from this chemical. What I really admire about this product is the whole concept itself. Their product lines are fully crafted to maximize the use of the kitchen equipment without compromising its safety.
I only have a 20 months old daughter; I am slowly introducing her to the Curious Chef Built Kitchen set. With my supervision, I let her be familiarized with the spoon, as I am using this to put a small portion of the salad to her bowl. I let her listen to the timer; I introduce the shapes or the cookie cutter, it is a really fun way to introduce the kitchen equipments. When I am baking a small quantity, I let her see me use this kitchen-set, because the measurements are accurate too! As for my friend and neighbor, this Curious Chef gives a lot of confidence in his son. This product is designed for five-year olds, onwards. The idea is, we, parents can use this, were way beyond five, with our watchful skills, this would be the most effective way to teach our child the basics of the kitchen world.
How cool! We have been letting our four-year old son stir, pour, mix, and observe our cooking since he was two. We got him a play kitchen for Christmas, but he can’t cook real food with it (although he still “cooks” with it every day).
I love the idea of special smaller utensils for when children “help” in the kitchen. Also his play kitchen didn’t come with a cute apron, oven mitts, and chefs hat like the Curious Chef Built Kitchen foundation set. I will have to look into this.
I really like the little chef’s set, is is so cute! Might inspire tykes to cook just so they could use it. Or you know, make a mess!
