Hasbro has been in the toy making business since 1923. It is one of the biggest toys manufacturing companies in the world. They are known for a lot of toy lines such as the Play-Doh, Playskool, Nerf, to name a few. One of the most famous toys of Hasbro is the Easy-Bake Oven. It has been introduced in the toy industry in 1963. It used to have the light bulbs to make the oven work. But now with the Easy-bake Ultimate Oven, the light bulbs are no longer part of the toy but makes use of electricity.
The Easy-Bake Ultimate Oven has every kid, male or female, over the moon when they get it. It is definitely one of those educational and fun toys that can be used by the entire family. I was happy to review Hasbro’s Easy-Bake Ultimate Oven for my 5-year old daughter because I noticed how she enjoyed cooking with me. I know it is below the suggested age, but my daughter can do most of the tasks with minimal assistance. I make sure that I am always there to play with her whenever she uses Easy-bake.
What I like about Easy-Bake Ultimate Oven
The newer version of East-Bake Ultimate Oven is better than the ones I remember seeing as a child. The light bulbs are no longer used hence the lifespan is longer. I don’t have to worry about the bulbs dying out and rendering the Easy-bake oven useless.
This toy comes with start-up mixes and materials that kids can enjoy trying upon purchase – chocolate chip cookie mix, red velvet cake mix, pink frosting mix, rainbow sugar crystals package, paper cupcake wraps, and the recipe booklet. My daughter and I tried making the chocolate chip cookies and the cupcakes and we both had a lovely time. Not only is it easy to follow the instructions, it is also easy to bake from the Easy-Bake ultimate oven. My daughter did most of the battering and mixing. I just put it inside the oven and took it out for her because it’s too hot for her.
Once the baking is done, the quantity is perfect for an afternoon snack. It produces bite-sized desserts so don’t expect that it can feed the entire family. It is just right for kids. The thing about the Easy-bake is that you can use any other mixes. You don’t have to get Hasbro’s mix all the time. Ordinary cookie dough mix can work too. You can even use it to bake little pizzas and pastries.
The only drawback I noticed about this toy is that you cannot see the progress inside the oven. You have to pull it out the oven and put it back in just in case it’s not ready for consumption yet. But all things considered, I really approve of this toy for my daughter because it is enjoyable and educational. It encourages my daughter to have a hobby. Unlike other toys, wherein she just plays with it, with the Easy-Bake Ultimate Oven, she learns how to bake, how to produce cupcakes or other desserts, to follow instructions, and to estimate. It challenges her. Not to mention, it also triggers her creative side with designing the cupcakes with sprinkles and having colored frostings. Though, the Easy-Bake Ultimate Oven is pricey and would require you to continuously spend for the mixes, I still think it’s a good investment!

Ha! It’s awesome that the Easy Bake has remained a toy staple for so long – it’s so different now in appearance, but still the same classic 🙂
