Let me hear it from you moms if you’re a fan of your own children’s drawings, no matter what others may think about them! Yes, I’m one of you and I’m proud! We all know that our love for everything our children artistically do with their little hands is not just because of our own bias as “fan-moms”, but rather because of how we greatly see through their enthusiasm and heartfelt efforts in putting their colourful imagination to artistic work. I’m not a high-profile art critic, but everything that my daughter has been drawing gets even better and more beautiful as she improves almost day by day.
So obviously, my daughter really loves to draw, colour, and paint. With so many drawings she has done, I can already compile all her works into a book, or even hold a gallery in our home. But as much as I would love to keep all of her artworks, I want her and me to be completely unanimous when it comes to choosing just a few favorites that we can practically keep or display around the house. So thanks to her wonderful set of eeBoo art stuff which she has been recently loving so much, we both agreed that our best choices for our wall displays are her artworks that she’s making with them!
My daughter’s eeBoo Walk to the Sea Watercolor Pencils made it her first time to draw with colored pencils that turn into watercolor! It has 24 colors, and its lovely tin packaging is themed with a scenic “walk to the sea” watercolor artwork by Melissa Sweet, who is also the illustrator for award-winning books such as “A River of Words”, and her own written books like “Carmine” and “Balloons Over Broadway” to name a few.
The watercolor pencils are well-pigmented, so they’re definitely long-lasting and my daughter’s hand can comfortably draw as the true colors of her pencils easily and brilliantly show with just one stroke. It’s very simple but fun to use, as she would just have to draw and lightly shade, and then simply brush the drawing with water for that easy watercolor effect.
Hooray for me because it’s less messy than traditional watercolor! It’s also a great introduction to watercolor for her. I feel like she’s hitting two birds with one stone too, as she learns to draw and paint at the same time. And I’m amazed that she’s really taking good care of her watercolor pencils that just seem so precious to her.
We also got the eeBoo Walk to the Sea Sketchbook, which is a perfect match to the watercolor pencils, with the same artwork cover by Melissa Sweet. They’ll definitely make a nice gift set! And while my daughter enjoys her freedom and originality in her sketchpad, she’s also having a great time learning and improving with her eeBoo Art Book 1 – Learn to Draw Simple Forms in the Home & Garden. It provides easy-to-follow illustrated guides for drawing, using basic shapes as the foundation in creating objects commonly found in the home and garden. The book’s colorful cover and kid-friendly pages were illustrated by Lizzie Rockwell, who has also beautifully illustrated numerous books by authors Anne Rockwell and Maya Angelou.
These are just a few of eeBoo’s 100% original, high-quality, and fun products. Eeboo is a haven of playfully educational stuff like books, games, arts & crafts, toys, gifts, and other creative activities that are uniquely designed in collaboration with well-loved book illustrators. I’m glad that my daughter had a whole new experience in being a creative kid with eeBoo. And because I would like to encourage her further with her artistic passion, I’m looking forward to more eeBoo lovelies that I’d happily get for her!
