My daughter got very excited when we received the Fablossom Maker Kit for review.
She loves crafting and anything that is girlie stuffs. What makes this crafting different from other arts and craft products is the simple steps involve in putting the pieces together.
We have seen numerous hair and personal accessories (especially for girls and ladies) like ribbons with pins for hair, ribbons for headbands, and other accessories that we can use to accessorize our stuffs like bags. There are endless DIY crafting tutorials online and in crafting stores but very complicated and needs too many materials most even involve electricity and /or some type of adhesives and pins which makes it dangerous for small children. Most of all, they are expensive.
Fablossom Kit on the other hand, is simple yet elegant. You can stick or clip it to almost all stuffs you have like bags, clothes, shoes, hats, hairpins and headbands to give them more life and color. The kit we received contains sets of materials able to make three different fabric flowers.
The following materials are included in the kit:
- 18 Large fabric circles (6 pieces of fabric per color)
- 18 Small fabric circles ( identical to the big fabric circles)
- 3 Different colors of gems for the center of the fabric flower
- 3 Felt donuts (with sticker on one side to stick on fabric where pins or hooks will be attached)
- 3 Gem backs (where gems will be attached)
- 3 Inner rings ( both the inner and outer rings hold the flower fabrics in place)
- 3 Outer rings
- 1 Clip
- 4 Rubber feet
- 1 Hook and loop tape
- 2 Pins
- 1 Fablossom stick (use to press the inner to outer rings to form the fabric flowers)
- 1 Fablossom board (an assembly board to aid in the creation of the fabric flowers)
Although the process is very simple and easy and fit for 6 years old and up, my daughter still needs my help in putting them all together, which is not a problem because it is another way for me to spend time with her. My daughter just needs a little help in folding the fabrics, assembling and pinning the fabrics on the board. The process requires a little force and steady hands which small children cannot quite master. Also, the tips of the fabric need to be aligned properly to create a clean and elegant fabric flower. What I like most about the Fablossom Kit is; it is safe for my daughter. I do not worry about her playing with glue gun or any electric device to put the pieces together. On top of this, I do not worry about cleaning or protecting the area where she is going to make the Fablossom fabric flowers. It is a win-win scenario for both of us. One more thing, the price is very reasonable; even lower than buying one flower hair clip for example.
The Fablossom Maker kit can also be use as gift for those who loves crafting and DIY stuffs. You can also buy a refill pack if you want to make more fabric flowers. The Fablossom has varieties of fabric colors as well as flower designs that you can buy to add to your collections.
Fablossom just launched a Kickstarter campaign. You can support the project by ordering products at a special discounted price on Kickstarter, now through Jun 8 2015 12:59 AM EDT.
