When you’re busy and on the go, you don’t always have time to stop and prepare a meal. With Green Zebra Kitchen, you can have healthy meals delivered to you at home or at work. I had a chance to try Green Zebra Kitchen for some of the meals and it tastes amazing!
Green Zebra Kitchen uses organic fresh foods. All of their meals are gluten free and they do not use animal products. Green Zebra uses local suppliers which allows them to provide you with the freshest possible ingredients. Their use of healthy oils and savory spices makes all of their meals delicious for everyone. Green Zebra also avoids microwaving and deep-frying their foods.
Green Zebra offers two main plans. Plan A provides 6-8 lunches or dinners and is $115 plus HST. Plan B provides 3-4 lunches or dinners per week and is $60 plus HST. Payments can be done through PayPal or Interac. Cash can also be paid at the time of delivery.
You can customize your plan to fit your needs (allergies, intolerances) and substitutions are available. Extras are also offered and include everything from soups to dips to desserts.
Upcoming menus can be viewed on their site, www.greenzebrakitchen.com. An example of one of their delicious meals is Creamy Sweet Potato and Red Lentil Stew w/ Harissa and Preserved Lemon. This meal is listed with Quinoa and Brown Rice w/ Spiced Almonds, Currants, and Cilantro. All of the meals are labeled 1, 2 and 3. Meals with the same number are meant to be eaten together and the numbers are also a suggestion for the order in which to eat them.
I love they send the notes via email and give me the instruction how to warm the meals.
“All of the meals come in biodegradable containers. Since these are biodegradable, you cannot microwave them. Instead, all meals (except kale salad) can be heated on low until they are warm. Meals such as Mac and Cheese, Stuffed Squash and a few others can be placed in the oven (with lid removed) at 350 until warm.”
Meal deliveries occur on Monday evening and Tuesday morning. Green Zebra even contacts you to arrange a delivery time. All deliveries are made using a cooler bag that keeps them cool for up to 2 hours. Depending on the meal, Green Zebra recommends eating your means by Saturday, Sunday at the latest.
I love that not only is Green Zebra Kitchen health conscience, they care about the environment. As stated, all containers are biodegradable so they can either be put in your recycling or compost. They also reuse their cooler bags, so be sure to leave it out on delivery day!
Green Zebra Kitchen takes all of the guesswork out of my meal planning and even guides me on which meals go together. They have everything set up so that their system could not be any easier and I will definitely be their customer again.

This is a wonderful service! I live in a community with seniors so this type of thing is ideal. There is a place across the street similar to this called, ‘Chef on the Run’…last night we had barbecued chicken with mashed potatoes, carrots and spring beans…delicious plus I didn’t feel like cooking. It is $8.00 for each meal. They also have delicious soups for $3.50. They don’t offer PayPal like Green Zebra and I really like that idea.
