I can’t help but succumb to going back to my childhood days and be a child once again… I received the Hasbro Battleship Live that is similar as the one I played with my friends years ago. In the 80’s it’s mere sound effects and light-up board, now there’s so many things going on in the very board plus the board now talks!!! And my little one is as excited as I am when we heard the tower talk.
Battleship Live is the greatest sea battle adventure one can have these days. The same object of the game as the traditional “Battleship” but this time it is more exhilarating as you can move your ship if it’s your turn. There are even more moves that you can do now with your every turn as you try to get the advantage over your opponent, like releasing tomahawk missiles, cruise missiles, air strike, sweep mines, let your submarine do a dive, or even send a spy plane on the track to the other side. This game may be mere more points over your opponent but the very thought of you beating him/her on the battle at seas makes one addicted to the game.
Funny that I am pretending to teach my little one with the game, though in all honesty I just want to play with it without looking weird, haha. Well, in all honesty, it’s not me teaching but the “talking tower”. Do not be surprised to find that there are no Instructions to find within the box, because from start to finish the tower will guide you through the game. My daughter loves it the most when we hear the “and…FIRE!” sound. She’s too young to really comprehend the magnificent board game but I know in time she will. As of the present she loves to do her own pretend play.
The board sensors are really neat. It will remind you whose turn it is when you run to the kitchen for a while to do a thing or two, if your pieces have shifted position, or maybe when some trick was played on you when you get back you’ll know that something is not as it should be and may put back where it really belongs. This is not like the traditional version in a way that this time the control tower throws out curve balls to change the game with unruly tides and foggy fogs.
It’s magnificent in a way that a challenge raised to your kid will create bonding and at the same time make them feel that you are not so far away or too old. You also get to teach them to learn to accept loses when they lose and be nice when they win.
