Like most girls with Peanut and Pofaroo being no exception, they love to dress up in their finest (also knows as princess wear) including makeup smeared across their sweet cheeks and nail polish adorning their tiny nails! And as a mom, I try to keep my girls safe from anything that can harm them…in the food they eat, the products we use in our home and the nail polish they wear on their fingers and toes.
I had never heard of Hopscotch Kids Nail Polish and I was eager to try it out when provided with a sample for review.
Hopscotch Kids Nail Polish is a Non-Toxic, Water-Based Polish from Lila Natural Cosmetics made especially for tiny fingers and toes. It is phthalate, solvent, paraben and fragrance free compared to what is normally contained in most nail polishes available on the market. All things that this momma of 2 girlies tries to keep out of our home!
The girls were eager to open the package and try out the nail polish and remover and we had the chance to try out both (thanks to Peanut – 8 insisting she could do her nails all by herself). We absolutely love the colours with each girl laying claim to the one they like best (pink for Peanut and blue for Pofaroo) and the colour that would work perfectly for their Halloween costumes at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party at Disney World. Peanut as Ariel and Pofaroo as Elsa.
I really liked that upon opening any of the bottles I wasn’t hit with the smell that I normally associate with nail polish or nail polish remover. The smell can be nauseating and is full of a toxic brew of fragrances and chemicals. Knowing that my girls wouldn’t be inhaling the mixture is a benefit in my eyes.
Peanut insisted she was old enough to paint her own nails while I was working on Pofaroo’s. I noticed that applying the Hopscotch Kids nail polish is a very smooth application. There is no clumping like I’ve noticed with ‘regular’ nail polish.
Pofaroo loves the blue and told me it matches her Elsa costume. For her fingers she opted for alternating colours after seeing her sister apply her nail polish in the same design! And to make it even better in the eyes of my princess loving girls, is the shiny top coat that’s applied over the colour! After all everything is better with shine! Also available from Hopscotch kids is their extra special sparkle coat!
For Peanut, she tried really hard to keep the polish on her nails but managed to get quite a bit on her skin. Since the nail polish was so fresh, I decided not to soak her fingers in water as suggested prior to using the polish remover and rather tried the Hopscotch Kids soy polish remover first with a cotton ball. I am really amazed how well the soy polish remover works! I thought that there was no way it would be able to remove the polish without extra scrubbing but I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was! Definitely if the polish were on for longer than 5 minutes, I would definitely soak in water prior to using the soy polish remover.
With 19 vibrant colours to choose from, with super cute names I might add like ‘little miss muffet’ or ‘you are my sunshine’, whether you love pink or are more partial to green, you will find the perfect colour for your little one!
What colour will you pick?

Awe that is so adorable! I know what I can stick in my daughters stocking! I have been wanting to paint her nails since before she was born lmao!
it is important to me to not have them put on ‘conventional’ nail polish, but one that is for kids.
Those colours are gorgeous! I would feel much better gifting these nail polishes to a small child than the regular ones that I use.
