This year my son is in JK and is learning and it seems as though he is learning and growing with every day that goes by. For that reason I enjoy having toys for him that not only feed his imagination but also challenge his mind to continue to learn and grow. With the Christmas holidays coming I love the fact that I have another opportunity to provide him with more “food for learning”.
Leap Frog has created Fridge Numbers Magnetic Set for ages two to four which is an excellent way for my little guy to work on his numbers and his counting.
The set includes 20 magnetized tiles that will stick to any magnetic surface, for instance, the refrigerator, at exactly a height appropriate for my little one. There is a magnetic tile reader sporting a picture of Scout the puppy and his picnic basket, into which the children place each of the tiles. Scout then cheers them on by telling them the name of the item they placed in the basket and asks them to place more of those items into his basket. Scout continues by saying the name of the fruit and encourages the child to find another member of the same food group among the tiles. As my son matches the numbers to the picture on the tiles, he is learning that numbers represent the “how many” aspect of an item.
Leap Frog’s Fridge Numbers Magnetic Set is helping to give my little one a head start on his arithmetic skills. This is an invaluable toy for all preschoolers, in addition to providing them with fun challenges during playtime.
The Leap Frog Count Along Cash Register is another packed-with-fun teaching toy for two to four year olds.
Spunky is the name of the cash register friend who sings, counts, and talks while children learn to check out their items with names and numbers. The Count Along Cash Register comes with eight separate, colorful food items, ten coins, a shopping card, and the cash register itself. Children can set up their own little store by placing their food items on any surface, and then check each one out by scanning, inserting the specified number of coins, or by swiping the shopping card. By sharing shopping time with a friend, children are learning while having fun. They are using their imaginations by creating their own little retail space while Spunky, the Leap Frog Count Along Cash Register, plays along by singing and speaking more than 50 educational songs and phrases. My little guy thoroughly enjoys learning about counting while playing and singing along with Spunky, and, at the same time, he is learning important lessons about the process of shopping and paying for his purchases. He can repeat Spunky’s phrases and sing along with the music to his heart’s content.
Leap Frog’s Fridge Numbers Magnetic Set and Leap Frog Count Along Cash Register are the perfect pair for teaching preschoolers important lessons that will also bring them a step ahead in their preparation for grade school. By teaching through repetition, phrases, and songs, these toys provide children with fun that lasts and lasts.
