No matter how old or young someone is, LEGO sets are a big hit. They are timeless and one kind of toy that we all wish never fades away for the next generations. Ever since it came out, there has been so many varieties, collectibles, sets, etc. that have come and gone and gender is not an issue, too. Both girls and boys can enjoy playing with them.
I just got 2 LEGO sets recommended for ages 6-12 from Best Buy which I think is even affordable than anywhere else. They can be purchased online at bestbuy.ca since Best Buy is very well-known for offering only the most quality products at reasonable prices.
The first of the 2 sets that I’d like to recommend is the LEGO City Heavy-Duty Helicopter with the number/code 4439. It is strictly advisable to allow kids aged 6 and above because it really has small 393 pieces all in all. Younger kids might meet accidents like choking on them. We don’t want that to happen so keep it away from little one and let the big kids play.
The set includes 3 minifigs where 2 are pilots and the other one is kind of like a forest policeman. The main piece is the huge 6-wheel AVT and the heavy-lift (Chinook) helicopter. The police AVT which is about 2 inches long can be loaded into the helicopter which has a wide interior and a very impressive exterior. I can say that big kids and even adult LEGO fans will love this. The helicopter is about 17” long and 5” wide where 3 minifigs can fit in. Its door is an opening rear and its wheels can be articulated to any direction.
This LEGO City Heavy-Duty Helicopter is actually a set intended for forest policemen. They look realistic and every piece is neatly done. There are no violence-provoking pieces like guns and that’s a plus for me. Boys of any age are sure to find pleasure in building and playing with it.
Second for my review is the LEGO Star Wars: Sith Nightspeeder 7957. It includes 214 pieces and I just adore how intricate the details are printed on each piece for the 3 minifigs. Comparing the 3 minifigs to real thing, they look really close to the actual Anakin Skywalker, Asajj Ventress and the newest addition to the LEGO Star Wars minifigs collection, the Savage Opress. Both the front and back torsos have great prints of its clothes, “muscles” and more. They are just impressive and amazingly done.
In the set, there are also these 4 lightsabers and a weapon for the minifigs. Most of all, there’s the Sith Nightspeeder which is the “main attraction” of the whole set. It has 2 detachable pods and a flick missile. The minifigs can’t actually sit on the pods itself but the hand bars where the minifigs’ hand can grip on can be the means for them to stay put.
Since the set has small pieces, it’s not recommended for young kids, too. I’d love to give sets like these to my nephews or to my friends’ boys. These will surely be one of the best gifts if you are to get these for boys. Even their dads will enjoy themselves playing and assembling them.
