LegoLand Has Something for Everyone

This past weekend I took my family to Legoland for the first time and it definitely did not disappoint. The LegoLand Discovery Centre was a hit with the kids. We spent the day on all the attractions and watching the 4-D movies.

There is plenty to do at LegoLand so make sure to get a map right away when you get there. You can hit up the Lego Factory Tour which shows kids how Lego’s are brought to life. They can also have their very own Lego brick, which is a nice keepsake to take away.

There is also MINILAND, where you can see all of our landmarks scaled down to mini size. There are also buttons you can press to manipulate some items in the model display.

The Lego 4D Cinema transforms 3D films into a live adventure. We all got special glasses to wear and as we watched, we were drawn into the world of Lego. The first one we watched was Lego Clutch Powers, which it also my favorite. Clutch Powers is the heroic builder and explorer. In this 4D short film, Clutch battles a Rock Monster. Elements are incorporated and brought the live feel to the room. The next one we watched was the Legends of Chima 4D movie. This film takes viewers to the land of Chima where two rival clans fight for control of a powerful energy source known as CHI. The last short film is the Lego Racers. This one is all done with music only, which is a great way to keep kids engaged and they don’t even realize there’s no speaking. All shorts are less than 15 minutes so you don’t have to worry about sitting too long, and you don’t have to see them all if you don’t want to.

There’s the Kingdom Quest Laser Ride where you can help your kids save the princess and use their lasers to zap away at all the bad guys that may be trying to stop you.

Merlin’s Apprentice is another ride we tried. It was tons of fun to peddle away and help Merlin with his magic.

Make sure to take your kids to the Lego Racers: Build & Test, and the Master Builder Academy. At Racers, we built our own cars and then tested them on the race track to see how fast they go. Once we got to the Master Builder Academy, we were shown different ways to build all sorts of pieces. If you’ve ever wondered how all of those intricate Lego creations are made, this is the place to stop.

The Earthquake Towers let us test how strong we can make our buildings and teaches kids how to build something strong enough or how to repair their creation using critical thinking.

In the Fire Academy, my daughter got to test her firefighter skills in their makeshift training grounds. This area is designed for children up to 4.5 feet tall so you don’t have to worry about your little ones getting run over by the bigger kids. We also stopped at the Construction Site. This place uses soft blocks and soft play areas for kids. The height limit here is 3 feet so it’s best for the smaller kids. We loved it! The Duplo Village was great because the bricks are larger than Legos and they have their own playlist that you can rock out to while creating your masterpieces.

We also stopped at the Café to eat. There is plenty of options and everything was delicious. We picked up a couple of hard to find items and souvenirs from the Discovery Centre Shop and then headed back out.

My daughter’s other favorite was the Lego Friends where she got to sing with the Lego Friends. They have a cute setup with a stage for her to sing her heart out on.

You can order tickets for LegoLand online or get them when you get there. There are many ticket options available and they do also offer Activity Packs. Children under 2 are always free. LegoLand also offers a great night called an Adult Night. These are scheduled ahead of time, and not very often so I would definitely get tickets ahead of time. The nights are usually themed and it makes for a great date night! Birthdays, Schools and groups are always welcome as well. The Customer Service number is 1-855-356-2150 for any questions in regards to booking for a group or birthday.

You can find more information on the LegoLand website.
