I’ll think lots of you will agree that Halloween can be a fun but stressful time of year. Aside from the normal activities of school, sports, and family life, now you have to find costumes for the entire family, decorate the house, and get something ready for the trick or treaters who will come knocking at your door. Every year I have big plans of costumes for the kids and the perfect doorstep décor, but inevitably something else gets in the way.
Luckily, I’ve found a few things to make the Halloween season just a little bit easier and help you enjoy the holiday and traditions.
My husband and I rotate years of who takes our kids trick or treating and who stays home to answer the door. This year he is taking the kids out and he wants a fun costume to wear. Instead of adding his name to the list of costumes I had to make or put together, I am fortunate to receive a few pieces from Hasbro that he is super excited to wear. The Star Wars Darth Vader Voice Changer Helmet turns anything you say into the voice of Darth Vader, complete with evil breathing noises. Paired with the Anakin to Darth Vader Color Change Lightsaber, my husband is good to go.
The helmet just takes two batteries to turn anyone into the evil Lord Vader and is an almost exact replica of the mask from the movies. A button even plays some of Darth Vader’s classic lines. The lightsaber changes from blue for Anakin to red for Darth Vader and makes all the lightsaber sounds from the movies, including power up sounds and battle sounds. Do you want to be the sinister Lord Vader or the good Anakin Skywalker? You can also choose if you want a fast or slow color change. My husband is so excited to have a great costume this year. And the best part is that the mask and lightsaber will make great additions to our dress up bin—my kids are already thinking of the games they can play in them.
Manning our door for trick or treaters on Halloween, I’ll be focused on something a little different—the sweet stuff. But sometimes I look at all the candy my kids come home with and dread the sugar rush and sugar crash that will inevitably come the next day. This year I’m super excited to hand out something different. Play-Doh offers cute Halloween bags that have little tubs with Halloween decorations. I’m sure my trick or treaters (and their parents) will love the fun toy. It’s the perfect size and very festive—after all, who doesn’t love Play-Doh? I feel good handing out something that will last longer than a small piece of chocolate.
Hasbro also has a variety of different blind bags available such as the Kre-O Transformers Micro-Changers Mystery Packs, My Little Pony Crystal-Shine Mystery Pony and Littlest Pet Shop Blind Bags.
Play-Doh packs, the fun Darth Vader costume and the blind bags make it easy to focus on the fun part of Halloween and enjoy this special season.
How do you lighten your load for Halloween?
Have you ever handed out something to trick or treaters besides candy?
