Marili Jean is a company that makes colder weather fashion accessories for little girls and boys. They design headbands, scarves, mittens, dresses, and hats that have interchangeable accessories like knitted flowers, hearts, ribbons, and bows. The company was launched in 2009 and the owner, designer, and mother of 3 is named Laurie Derickson, who states that her little girl, (Marili Jean), is the inspiration for her ideas. Because the company is so fashion forward (staff has been to fashion shows around the world) the products are very stylish and trendy, not to mention the amazing quality. The material is soft and comfortable, and it will last. It should also be noted that Marili Jean was nominated in 2012 for Earnshaw’s Magazine Earnie Award, (Best Accessories Company) which recognizes “design excellence in childrenswear”. Two of the pieces that really caught my eye were the Sienna Scarf Cream, and the Sienna Mittens Cream. Both of these items are truly gorgeous, and they match each other exactly. I love them because I have them for my daughter and she wears them quite often. Personally, I think when she wears them she looks like a child model for some high end advertisement, and she loves them because they’re comfortable.
They don’t make her itch like some other scarves and mittens. Both items are made with the same great material, the site states they are “100% thick, soft acrylic”, and both are lined with fleece and machine washable (easy care). The scarf is held together at the center by Velcro, but the flowers are attached to both the mittens and the scarf. I really love that these are also affordable. The scarf is $24.99 and comes in a 0 – 12 month size, and a Toddler/Girl size. The mittens are $22.99, and come in Infant size and Toddler size.
