My First Collection Volume 3 Featuring Chicken Little Review And Giveaway

If you are looking for something entertaining and at the same time educational for children, you might want to check Scholastic Storybook Treasures’ My First Collection DVD series. Their My First series is aimed for children ages 2-6, perfect for preschoolers. The stories are short and ideal for the attention span of kids. The third installment of the My First Collection was released just last month. My First Collection Vol. 3 Featuring Chicken Little brings new exciting stories for kids and kids at heart. This volume brings excitement as they added new stories such as “Chicken Little”, “Scaredy Squirrel” and “Katie Loves the Kittens”.

The first DVD, Chicken Little…and more zany animal stories, got my 4-year old daughter excited as she saw how the chicken got his animal friends alarmed because he told them that the sky is falling. They fear that it is true so they try to run away from it. The other stories are “The Great White Man Eating Shark”, “The Three-Legged Cat” and “Dooby Dooby Moo”.

Katie Loves the Kittens…and more funny stories DVD include “Scaredy Squirrel”, “The Cow Fell in the Canal” and “Roberto the Insect Architect”. Katie Loves the Kittens is not your typical cat-dog relationship because instead of getting mad, Katie the dog was very thrilled to have the little kittens as her friends. I am very pleased because simple stories like this one can teach children about friendship at an early age.

The last disc in the collection is not to be ruled out. It highlights cute dogs in all four “tails”. Bark George…and more doggie tales shows George’s mother teaching the young puppy, George, how to bark. It teaches about family, which is very important. “Dot the Fire Dog”, “No Roses for Harry” and “Angus and the Ducks” complete the 12 stories in this third volume.

The 3-pack DVD set is available for $24.95 but can also be bought for $12.95 per disc. This collection is very entertaining and humorous. I think this is also a wonderful gift idea for people looking for something to give a kid, something new, something educational. Everything about this is age appropriate, including the read along function. My daughter recognizes a lot of words already because she does not get tired of watching this. I think this is probably because of the colorful graphics used; it doesn’t get boring for kids. I can say that this is truly value for money especially since it is valuable for extra learning for children. With this entertainment plus education principle, you cannot go wrong.
