This year’s National Play-doh Day is here again, and my children are living it up with the Playdoh Ice Cream Castle and the Playdoh Dr. Drill ‘n Fill Retro Pack. Playdoh is a toy that just never gets old, and there is always something new and fun to create. Play-doh sets are a staple in the world of creativity. There is never any shortage of wonderful ideas to exercise children’s minds while helping them to hone their motor skills. Many smiles have been born on little faces while discovering new creations made with Playdoh.
The Playdoh Ice Cream Castle comes unassembled, but, only takes a few minutes to put together. The set includes everything kids need to concoct colorful and fun Playdoh treats; six cans of Playdoh, five spoons, two cones, a roller, four dishes, and six ice cream discs. The discs can be inserted into the center tower one at a time in order to change the shape of the Playdoh that comes swirling out from the bottom and into the dish. The crank is fashioned to be easily turned by smaller hands which I love for my little guy. The kids can fill every dish or cone, changing the colors and shapes as they go along. Next they can move along to the Playdoh topping station where they can decorate their “ice cream” treats with wacky whipped cream and crazy sprinkles. They can either jazz up their creations with toppings using the frosting tool and sprinkle crank that come with the Playdoh Ice Cream Castle or they can remove them and decorate by hand.
The Playdoh Dr. Drill ‘n Fill Retro Pack is another celebration of the wonderful world of Playdoh. Dr. Drill ‘n Fill has been around for many of Playdoh’s 60 years and has always been a big hit. This set comes with everything that a budding dentist needs to keep the patient’s teeth in check. It comes with five cans of Playdoh, tooth mold, toothbrush, tweezers, drill, roller, mustached head, and instructions. So much can be done when there is a willing, smiling patient! The kids can mold teeth from the different colored Playdoh by placing it in the tooth molds and then drill the teeth to fill in cavities. Braces can be fashioned for the patient’s teeth with the roller provided and Playdoh toothpaste can be squeezed out of the toothbrush to keep his teeth clean.
Both the Playdoh Ice Cream Castle and the Playdoh Dr. Drill ‘n Fill Retro Pack are for ages three and up. It is another terrific toy that my third grader and my little JK guy can play with together. I love watching them enjoy themselves with these tried and true toys made by a company that has been providing so much fun and laughter for children for so many years. I don’t have to think twice about buying Playdoh fun sets for my two. They’ve been proven over and over again to be not only safe for children, but just plain fun!
