Having dolls just got even better with this new product I got my (and my daughter’s) hands on. And they come in lights, sounds and inspirations, too! The collection has five dolls: Astra, Flix, Techno, Vizi and Gigi. They are from the bright and colorful world of Girlaxy, a futuristic fictional world as their playground where every girl’s dreams can come true! They’re called the O.O.T.W. or Out Of This World Girls. They are from Blip Toys, the makers of the famous Squinkies.
They’re battery operated and have lights and sounds coming out if. The package has this scan code which you can use to access the internet for some O.O.T.W. specials. You won’t believe how adorable they are! My daughter just loves them.
I just received a couple of ones for review for my daughter and she absolutely loves it—the Flix and Vizi. Every doll has a special feature that very much tells about their personality and interests. They have a somewhat history of how they came to be which goes: Coming from Girlaxy, their futuristic, bright and funky-colored playground, the girls get sparks coming from their heads when they get excited. These sparks are their bursts of imagination and when they learned to get use to it, they made good use of it and thus, their powers were born. Ours was Flix and it said she’s into movies and loves to film everything she and friends are up to—pretty much like my daughter who loves recording videos of anything and everyone around her with my phone! She loves the beaming projection that comes out of Flix’s pigtails when the button on her tummy is pressed. The projection shows images of what is imagined to be a movie made by Flix. My daughter can’t even get enough of showing the projections on the wall. She said there the best dolls ever!
Vizi on the other hand, is the smart one who can foretell the future. She’s like a Magic 8 Ball. You ask her questions and shake her then her ponytail has this small window where her answer will appear. My daughter enjoys asking a lot of questions to her Vizi and, trust me, they’re the silliest questions ever! Then she bursts into laughter when Vizi gives her an answer. She even asked Vizi if I would be getting her Astra, Gigi and Techno any time soon. Pretty tricky to let me know she’s waiting for me to complete the O.O.T.W. Girls.
I would definitely have to say they will make as good toys for little girls who love anything that has a story behind it. The way I see it, when I told my daughter about how the O.O.T.W. girls had special abilities which they found embarrassing at first but eventually learned to embrace them, it helps young girls see that there’s nothing bad at being different because that’s what will make them special. My daughter has been asking me before why she has interests different from her cousins. They’re into sports and outdoor games while she’s more into arts and crafts. The dolls somehow taught her that her interests and skills are powers differing from the powers that her cousins have! I overheard her the other day pretending Flix and Vizi were having a conversation and the context of it somehow says something about being different is special.
