If you want to know what the coolest educational toy to give your kids, particularly something that will also interest and challenge us adults, it’s none other than robotic programmable toys! Nope, I’m not talking about a science project. It’s really a toy, an intelligent toy that defines the generation of our increasingly becoming tech-savvy children. Any kid will think you’re the coolest parent, grandparent, or godparent ever if you give them an Ozobot!
In a nutshell, the Ozobot is a one-inch programmable robot that aims to teach kids as young as 6 (or even younger), the concepts of robotics and programming through educational play and gaming where they can create their own codes and conceptualize their own games and activities. Yup, they’re gonna be little engineers, designers, programmers, and developers! The Ozobot can work in both analog (i.e. paper surface) and digital platforms.
The Ozobot Starter pack includes one Ozobot, which is available in Cool Blue or Lava Red. The Ozobot comes with a USB charging cable, 4 markers for creating the colour codes, 2 reusable code sticker sheets, 2 clear sheets to serve as play surface where kids can put the code stickers and/or create more codes using the coloured markers, a blank customizable skin for the Ozobot, and a DIY sticker sheet for the skin.
There are more than 20 games and activities included in the starter pack to get kids started with the world of robotics and programming in a fun and playful way. The user manual includes includes instructions on how to download free Ozobot apps on Android and iOS.
