Palladium Boots for Men {2014 Holiday Gift Guide}

If you’re like me, a wife with a husband who doesn’t like buying clothes for himself, it can be hard knowing what to get your spouse. Because you need to get them something. Otherwise, if we left them to their own devices, their newest attire would be that leather jacket they purchased in the eighties which they still think looks cool.

You want to buy them something that oozes quality, and which looks stylish, but where do you start? As it’s getting colder, with the weather getting more and more incremental and downright glacial, all I needed for inspiration for my latest blog post was a trip to the shops which literally froze my toes. That was it, I decided on the spot – the perfect gift for any man this winter would be a fantastic new pair of awesome boots. Functional, useful, and aesthetically brilliant.

I received a pair of Palladium Boots for my husband, a well-known and super respected footwear brand that has been in existence since 1947. More specifically, he got a pair of their Root Beer Pilot boots. These boots come in a choice of several colours, including gold, army green and blue; my husband’s are the more discreet and usual black, but any colour looks great. Made from fine crackled leather, and with 100% genuine wool lining inside that provides comfort and warmth, it’s hard to fault these boots.

The thing about boots is that we expect them to last, and to do more than ordinary shoes. Where we tread with boots, we shy away from with trainers. But if you don’t invest in quality, boots can crumble under the pressure like an ordinary pair of trainers. These ones are stylish, come with quality soles that are as thick as a brick and which make walking feel as smooth as anything, and are tough enough to withstand the elements and consequently any wear and tear. Impressively, these Root Beer Pilot boots, whose outer material is made of pigskin, are also incredibly comfortable. Not too tall or short (heel height is 0.5 cm), they can also be worn two different ways; the wool lining can be cuffed or un-cuffed.

My husband, who enjoys a walk as much as I do, comments that ever since owning these boots, he can now look forward to the winter and whatever mother nature and her pesky elements can throw at him – and defy them. With the ability to retain moisture in wetter conditions, coupled with the added bonus that they look and feel fantastic,  they’re the best pair of boots he’s ever worn. His feet are safe, protected, and ultra warm.

The holidays are fast approaching, with the weather only going to get colder. For this reason, if you’re stuck for holiday gifts for any males in your life, I can think of nothing better than recommending you look at a pair of Palladium Boots. Men like useful gifts because – as a lot of them will admit – they don’t like spending their money on ‘boring’ things like socks and shirts. Which is why a lot of them end up with socks for Christmas. They have no one to blame but themselves on that front.

So, why not buy them something a little more special and durable this winter? These boots will last a long time, and if it snows, your spouse or your son is sure as heck going to need them. Indeed, I also have a son and am seriously considering getting him a pair too – the design is such that people of all ages and both sexes can wear them. Winter is a time that challenges our body, so brighten up your husband’s holidays with a touch of class!

  1. Palladium boots are awesome, very stylish.. but those JEANS THO? They are definitely meant to be worn with slimmer fitted jeans.. baggy jeans just look ridiculous with these.. please, do your husband another favor and buy some slimmer fit bottoms if hes going to wear these.. your pictures just make the boots look tacky.
