2015 is getting off to a good start for me and my family. Recently I was gifted a $25 gift certificate to use at clothing company Perfect Threads. My standard practice when I receive such a prestigious invitation to go online shopping crazy is to check the sites quality standards. The system itself is star operated, meaning that each item is vigilantly evaluated and afforded a star.
Items that are received new with tags or practically as good as new in terms of their condition are afforded 5 stars because they are easy to resell. A 4 star rating is provided for clothing that has been worn and used but retains its as good as new quality. A 3 star rating is used for clothes that remain in good condition but have clearly been pre-loved. The two star rating goes to items that retain rips, stains or other signs of wear and tear and a 1 star rating is for items that have been excessively worn. Such items are donated to charitable organisations and are deemed useful in other ways.
The star rating system means that buyers are always able to check for the quality of each item of clothing before they buy. If you’re a strictly 5 star kind of mum, then you can stick to 5 star pieces but if you are happy with 3 star goods, then you’ve got a greater variety to choose between. The great thing about Perfect Threads is that they like to find a use for every item of clothing making them hugely resourceful and economically friendly; both of which are pluses for the forward thinking parent.
The concept of the site is not new in itself; mothers have always got together to trade and swap much loved baby essentials. It’s the purse friendly option! What makes Perfect Threads so useful is that it encompasses clothing under a larger umbrella so that mums from all over can browse and resell their goods. As well as buying all of your baby necessities, you can also get something new for yourself. Most clothing sites seem to focus on children or adults but to find one that stocks both is ideal for those who like to get all of their shopping needs dealt with pronto.
There’s also a great Refer a Friend process that ensures you get $10 worth of store credit if your referral spends $50 or more. They then receive a $10 discount on their order! The range of clothes is pretty exciting. As always, I sit and browse with my daughter and let her point out what catches her eye, which ends up being pages and pages worth of clothes that extend beyond my gift certificate! I managed to get a lot of clothing with my certificate. In fact, it stretched further than I thought it would much to my delight.
Although it was hard to hone in on specific pieces when there was so much to choose from, I opted for a size 10 children’s Place skirt, two Woodland long-sleeve t-shirts, an Old Navy long-sleeve t-shirt and a girls size 8 Tops short sleeve shirt made from a combination of cotton and spandex. Needless to say I will be buying from Perfect Threads again. I love the process and ethos of the site. This is just the kind of communal exchange that moms need and making the process digital opens up a lot of new attire for moms in need! I was utterly impressed when my clothes arrived. They looked as good as new and the quality was delightful and let’s just say, the kids were impressed too and winning them over is not always easy!
