If your preschooler is anything like mine, he or she is a little bundle of energy. The wheels that turn inside my little boy’s imagination are always aiming for new things to learn and new ways to have fun. ”Fun” is the most important word in the unwritten job description of children his age. And, as we know, the mind of a preschooler can switch gears at any given moment! So, we, as moms, must try to be prepared to meet our spunky little person right on their own ground with new ideas, toys, and projects to keep their imaginations moving and focused.
This brings me to a new recommendation that I have to share with parents like me who are in the business of keeping our children busy and happy. Fun in the Sun by Playmobil 1.2.3. This playset is a bright and busy toy that lets children use their imaginations with unlimited direction. I’ll tell you how.
Fun in the Sun contains seven rounded pieces. A bright red airplane with a propeller that spins, and pictures of puffy clouds and rainbows on its wings, tail, and nose. Next is a speedboat, with fun designs covering its front. Because the boat is made to float my little guy can play with it in the water wherever we happen to be. There is seating in both the airplane and the boat for one little “action figure”, also included in the set. There are two adult figures and one child figure, any of which can be seated in either the airplane or the boat. There is a yellow beach umbrella on a sturdy white base with cute little sea creatures painted different colors on each section of the top. Last, but not least, is an adorable little clown fish, which also floats and doubles the fun!
This cleverly assembled playset gives my preschooler lots of opportunity to pretend. Putting one of the toy figures in the driver’s seat, he makes believe he is flying across the ocean to another country or just flying to the next town. He is a fisherman in his boat anywhere he chooses to be, catching the biggest fish in the sea. He can give his little figure family a day at the beach, lying under their umbrella or riding in their boat out on the lake. There is no end to the possibilities!
I find Fun in the Sun by Playmobil 123 to be a safe and fun toy for both boys and girls. As I mentioned earlier, the seven pieces included in the set are rounded, so there are no pointed or sharp edges that would cause a child any harm while at play. While I feel that this is a wonderful toy for children my son’s age, those just entering their JK year, it is probably not a good recommendation for children under three years of age because of small, loose parts.
Fun in the Sun can be found in stores, as well as online. The price will vary depending upon where you buy it, usually between $14.99 and $19.99. At either price it is certainly worth it to see the joy that your little one will experience as they play, the same joy I see on my little guy’s face as I watch his imagination soar!
