When it comes to the “season to be jolly” I often find myself out of ideas for what to get my toddler as a gift, not to mention what I want to get the other kids in the family. There is quite possibly no sadder sight, than seeing a kid not being excited when he unwraps a much anticipated gift. Gone are the days when toys had only one function and were packed away soon after being opened, Hasbro has some hot new toys available and all just in time for the festive season lurking around the corner. Among their new releases you can get excited about a big kid sizes 31” Spider Man life size toy, DohVinci’s 3D art sets, Character Sparkle Play-Doh and the one I got to review – Playskool’s Rock, Ride ‘n Stride Hippo Toy.
My son fell in love with it when he first saw it. I don’t personally see the joke but for some reason little people think rocking toys are the funniest things in the world, and my boy is no exception. He tried different options with this toy for hours on end and couldn’t seem to get enough of the great features available within one toy.
The Hippo Toy goes from being a walker to a rocker (which has lockable wheels) in the utmost convenience. In my personal experience rocker tend to keep rug rats busy for long stretches of time and this toy is definitely amazing, keeping little hands and bodies busy while you get to take a breath. But the transformation doesn’t stop there, once your child has grown big enough for it, the rocker converts into a ride on and your kid’s sleek new wheels will certainly have him strutting it around showing off his moves.
We all know little ones love music and this toy from Playskool really stimulates auditory senses and educate through play. It also rewards motor movement by playing music. Once your kiddo starts moving the ride on, it plays music, when your kid stops moving the music tones down and will start to get louder again once he gets back on the move. This toy also has three fun buttons on the dashboard that stimulate fine motor skills. When pressed the buttons produce funny noises, music or animal sounds and this feature has certainly impressed me with its ability to learn lessons in basic problem solving and cognitive thinking.
I found that the plastic from which this product is made was really sturdy and super durable (okay, I admit it; I might have sat on it JUST to get a feel for how it sits). My son clearly showed how comfortable this ride on was to him as it was a massive struggle to get him away from it and I had to literally drag him to go wash up for dinner. I also took notice on how attractive the bright yellow, orange and purple colors were to my son. Like a moth to the flame they say. Spot on for the creators for making this toy so attractive and with its beautiful finishes, it’s something that my son has adopted as part of our family. Hee-haw has become part of our daily routine now and I can rest assured that my child is gaining valuable learning experience all in the process of enjoyable play!
This is very cute I am sure my little one would love it
