Being Christian, Christmas is very important to us. It’s a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus and a time to reflect on what that means for us.
Christmas is also a time for celebrating with family and friends and enjoying all that the season has to offer. With Peanut – 8 and Pofaroo – 4, they think of not only presents but the big guy himself – SANTA!!
One of the traditions in our house over the month of December is to read a new Christmas story – either religious based or a traditional Santa story – every day throughout the month of December. There are the favourites like Twas Night Before Christmas and The Nativity Story but I’m always looking for new stories to add in.
Santa’s ZANY, WACKY, JUST NOT RIGHT Night Before Christmas is the perfect story to add to that list!
Similar in style to the traditional Twas the Night Before Christmas, this tale puts a humorous spin on what would happen if Santa didn’t have Mrs. Claus to help prepare him for the busiest night of the year and the calamity of events that follow. Pofaroo is the jokester in our house and she couldn’t help but laugh at the series of unfortunate events that befell Santa. From a PURPLE suit to upside down trees, the night just continues to spin out of control until….well I can’t tell you what happens that would spoil the ending!
Written by DK Simoneau & David Radman and illustrated by Brad Cornelius this story will delight the young and not so young. With its rhyming verse and beautiful illustrations, this is the perfect story to keep the tradition of Santa alive while entertaining any that read or listen to this story read aloud. You can purchase Santa’s ZANY, WACKY, JUST NOT RIGHT Night Before Christmas as of October 1, 2014 and add this to your reading list this Holiday season.
