So Easy Baby Food Kit Review And Giveaway Ends 7/11 (US)

So Easy Baby Food Kit lives up to its name!

From the time that we were pregnant with our first daughter, we knew we wanted to be the ones who supplied her food–whether through breastmilk the first 6 months or through homemade baby food thereafter. When she was ready for solids, I read a few baby food recipe books and embarked on a baby food making journey. I credit her voracious appetite of any vegetable or fruit to that early foundation of fresh, homemade baby food.
Now our second daughter is about to embark on her own solid food adventure and we cannot wait to make her baby food! This time around, though, I have a LOT of help–through the So Easy Baby Food Kit from Fresh Baby.
The So Easy Baby Food Kit comes with everything you need to get started on making your child’s food. In their award-winning kit you will find a recipe & instruction book (an incredible resource!), two BP-A and phthalate-free storage trays, a 22-minute how-to DVD, and a laminated tip card.
The included book is one of the most informative books I’ve read on the subject. To say that I was impressed by all the thought and details that went into making this book the ultimate resource would be an understatement.
A small note: The only issue I found with the book is that they advocate using a microwave to cook the food. While the book explains the benefits of microwave cooking, I’ve personally come to the conclusion that I’d rather not use that method. The great thing about the book, however, is that it also includes the stovetop method of steaming and cooking. So, if you’re anti-microwave, take heart–the book says that steaming your baby’s food over the stovetop is still okay!
The easy-to-read book tells you general background information on making food and then, based on age, breaks down each food into sections–how to select the food, prepare it (including prep time!), and serve it. As an added bonus, each food comes with ideas on what spices or other ingredients to add to it, guaranteeing that your child will find each spoonful delicious!
To fully test the kit, i decided to make a batch of sweet peas for my daughter. I watched the video, saw exactly how they made their food, and then got to work with my peas! It was fun to watch these:
go into the blender
and, with a little added breastmilk, turn into…
a frozen tray of nutritious (and hopefully delicious!) baby food
after waiting for it to freeze,
I gave a 1-oz cube to my 7-month old niece
(my 4-month old daughter will be eating these peas in 2 months!)
I wish i had taken a picture of my niece eating the peas but they were gone so quickly that I didn’t get a chance to do so–which is at least a sure sign she loved them!
RECAP:
The So Easy Baby Food Kit claims that you can make your child’s baby food in only 30 minutes a week!  After making baby food using their recommended methods and tools, I found that it really only does take 30 minutes–A small amount of time compared to the enormous benefits your child will reap from eating such freshly prepared food.
I can easily see why the The So Easy Baby Food Kit received the iParenting Media Award–it truly is the perfect kit for learning the hows and whys, ins and outs of making your own baby food!
DON’T like that they recommend using the microwave to prepare the foods (interesting reasoning and arguments for it that haven’t heard before) but DO like that they give you an alternative method using the stovetop.

  2. I like the “So Easy Toddler Food” Cookbook. I could totally use this for some extra ideas on what to feed my toddler. But I could definitely use the baby food kit for my 2-month old when it comes time for him to eat babyfood.

  5. I’m an email subscriber and my favorite product is definitely the So Easy Baby Food Cookbook. My husband loves to cook and reads cookbooks for fun and I’m hoping to take advantage of that when our son starts on solids.
