Spend Your ‘Me’ Time at Momonomics.com

Are you telling me I am invited to a girls’ night without having to leave the house? Count me in!

As a pregnant working mother with a 4-year-old daughter, busy and exhausted are two words that best describe my day-to-day life. I am preoccupied with working, cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping, and prenatal appointments. Not to mention, I am also chasing around a curious toddler who seems to need me not only for basic mothering, but for a source of entertainment as well. With everything that I do, socializing has become a thing of the past. At least, that was what I thought until I was referred to Momonomics.com.

Momonomics.com is a website devoted to women just like me: busy mothers who could use a little fun in their lives. “Momonomics” is a play on “mom” and “economics,” and it is a wonderful website that sells natural and organic products with budget-friendly prices by way of Vitacost.com, which is the company behind Momonomics. As an eco-conscious person, the website has helped me save money on brands like Burt’s Bees and Earth’s Best for my daughter.

Momonomics is a place to find earth friendly products, and it is also an outlet for busy mothers and mothers-to-be to vent, share knowledge, and humor themselves while taking a well-deserved time-out from their daily lives. When I visit this site, I am so pleased to be in the company of moms with whom I can relate.

The website’s tagline won me over: “Like a mom’s night out without the watered down cosmos.” This website is both fun and informational. I relate to a lot of confessions dished out in the “Slacker” section, which is a part of the website that allows moms to admit their parenting sins and slip-ups. Reading the stories from this section brings me comfort in knowing I am not a perfect mom and that is perfectly fine!

Other fun sections to browse include “Vent,” “Brag,” “Pillow Talk,” “Kitchen Diva,” “Mommy Cop,” and “Shop.” This website is not a sugarcoating website painting a pretty picture of parenting. Instead, it is the real and raw essence of being a mom, from coping with nonstop crying babies to handling an infant as a new divorcee. However, it also highlights the best parts of parenting in the “Brag” section, where mother show off their kids’ accomplishments.

Being a mom, especially pregnant, I am not the number one choice to be invited by my friends to happy hours and ladies’ nights at the local bar. It may not be a permanent substitute for face-to-face contact, but Momonomics.com is the second best thing to a bonding session with fellow females. I love my daughter, but I need some adult interaction injected in between pretend tea parties and “Bubble Guppies” marathons. This website will suffice for my social life until I get it fully back!
