My kids get tired of toys pretty quickly. Last year’s birthday present? Done within a week. Christmas presents two years ago? On the bottom of the toy box by February. They just run out of things to do and get bored with their toys so quickly, and I am always on the lookout for something to capture their creativity. So when I come across a toy that they can use in a number of ways and keep using their imagination, I jump on board! That’s what I found with the Tegu Magnetic Wooden Building Block Set.
Quality. I love the wooden blocks because they aren’t just your typical building blocks—they are tinted in beautiful bright colors and made of solid, quality wood. The wood stain is non-toxic, so even the littlest kids are safe to put them in their mouths, which we all know they will inevitably do. The blocks have magnets on both ends, which means that kids can use them to create whatever their hearts desire. And they come in a solid storage bin, which not only motivates my kids to actually clean up their toys, but also makes sure the blocks are safe and in one place. But honestly, with a building set like this, my kids never want to stop playing and put them away.
Creativity. The building possibilities of the Tegu Magnetic Blocks are practically endless. The set features 42 pieces in nine different shapes, like planks, cubes, and trapezoids, and can be used to build just about anything. My kids’ favorite part of the set is the four wheels that come with it—they love making racecars. My daughter also enjoys making princess castles. They love the blocks because they can make whatever they are in the mood for that day; I love the blocks because I know they will never get bored.
The Tegu Magnetic Wooden Building Block Set is fun for the whole family. It is a great chance for my kids to play together without fighting and something they can enjoy and work on together. I’ve even caught my husband getting in on the action a few times—there truly is something for everyone!
Value. The Tegu Magnetic Blocks are so universal and such good quality that I know they will last until long past when my children outgrow them. The blocks are good for kids two years and older, and my 5 year old still thinks they are the greatest toy. At just over $100, these blocks will be a staple of our playroom for years to come. They have definitely paid for themselves again and again—we’ve spent way more than that on toys that are forgotten within a few weeks.
The blocks are so popular in my house that I am planning to get another set for the kids for Christmas so we can double the fun. This is definitely one Christmas present that will make it into the New Year and still be as loved and fun as the day it was opened! If you are in Canada, you can buy it at Mastermind Toys.
