The Largest LEGO Mural Built in the Western Hemisphere

You really did not have a childhood if you didn’t have at least one set of LEGO bricks (or if you did not feel this one-of-a-kind pain when you step onto one of them, ouch!). Simply, there is no person who has not heard of one of the most successful and most favorite toys in the world.

The importance of LEGO‘s is that they “speak the universal language.” If you place a set of brick in front of the kids of any nation in the world, they will immediately take it in their hands and start playing. No words needed.

Although there are many copies of these sets out there, LEGO is still a trademark and a recognizable name. Six decades ago, this Danish company came up with something new and original on the market of children’s toys, and they secured their position for all time.

LEGO bricks are not intended just for kids. People of all generations can enjoy being constructive and creative, and feel like a kid again. Making of brick models of all kinds is a great way for family and friends to spend some quality time together.

People from the LEGO Company came up with another brilliant idea to connect people of all ages, nations, professions, in their playfulness. That happened during the construction of the LEGO Mystery Mural. And not just any mural, but the largest one in the Western Hemisphere made of Lego bricks.

Lego Mural 2018

This event was taking place every day, from November 12th to December 2nd, in Union Station, 65th Front Street W in Toronto. It was a part of the Holiday Fair at the Square event, an event that is becoming a new-established Christmas tradition in this city.

Due to the weather conditions that usually appear in Canada during this time of the year, the schedule of the event varied, but the “constructors” of this bricks masterpiece mostly gathered in the afternoons and evenings. And once when you take a brick, you just can stop making your LEGO creations!

LEGO had similar events in various manifestations all over the world. However, creating a mural in Toronto was extraordinary in many ways. Except it is the biggest LEGO “picture” in the world, placed at space of 40 ft x 12 ft, Mystery Mural has included the highest number of bricks ever used for this purpose – over 660 thousand pieces.

One more thing that has magnified the making of LEGO Mystery Mural is that, within the Toy Mountain campaign, to make sure even more children can enjoy play this holiday season, LEGO Company donated a set of LEGO bricks for each participant. This was a noble and human act that will enable less fortunate kids to enjoy playing with these awesome toys, which will develop their creativity and imagination.

If you missed participation in creating Mystery Mural, what a pity. But this LEGO masterpiece is still exhibited within the Christmas Fair at Nathan Phillips Square, and will be there by December 23. This “exhibition” will be entertaining to everyone, so take your friends and family to see it and take a picture in front of the biggest mural in the western hemisphere.
